Certain foods have negative effects on liver health, and therefore pose a risk to various parts of the body, known in this article.

The liver is one of the most important organs of the body, as it performs many of the main functions, and when it suffers from any defect, the entire body will be affected.

Liver function in the body:

The following are the most important functions of the liver in the body:

1- Clean the blood:

The liver plays an important role in cleaning the blood from harmful substances, and therefore having any health problem increases the chances of blood contamination.

The liver also helps protect the body from microbes and germs and prevent them from reaching various parts of the body as it contains immune cells.

2- Manufacturing important materials in the body

The liver makes important substances in the body, such as albumin, that prevent the fluid in the blood from leaving the blood vessels.

It also makes important proteins such as copper, iron and materials that help prevent clotting.

3- Transfer some substances in the body

The liver also converts some substances in the body into other important substances, such as converting cholesterol into bile salts that promote digestion, and converting ammonia into urea for easy disposal by urine.

4- Store some substances in the body

Another important function of the liver is to store some important substances in the body, such as storing sugars in the form of glycogen to supply the body with energy and help withstand fasting.

The liver also stores some important vitamins and minerals for the body, stores some harmful substances and then gets rid of them through the bile ducts.

Liver harmful foods:

Below are a group of foods that negatively affect liver health:

1- Sugar

Sugar causes numerous health damages throughout the body, including the liver. The liver uses one type of sugar, fructose, to make fats.

With the increase in fructose in the body, fat accumulates in the liver, which leads to many diseases.

2- Soft drinks

People who constantly drink soft drinks are more likely to develop fatty liver disease.

This is due to its harmful ingredients in the liver, as it contains a large percentage of sugars, which increases the high blood sugar and thus the accumulation of fat in the liver.

3- Unhealthy fats

Unhealthy fats pose a great danger to various parts of the body, including the liver, such as fried foods, baked goods, processed meats, etc.

And these fats lead to many liver damages, as it results in fatty liver disease, and affects the liver’s various vital functions, as it increases the chances of cirrhosis.

4- Salts

The body needs to eat a few salts, but excessive salt intake increases the body’s adherence to excess water, and hence the high level of sodium in the blood, which is harmful to the health of the liver, as it can cause cirrhosis, which is the first stage of scarring of the liver.

Beneficial foods for the liver:
